Oops, I Did It Again, in Alaska - Los Angeles Fine Art Photographer

It was an ordinary morning. We got up to head further south. But when we reached the Seaward Highway, I had to jump out the car.

For someone who doesn’t like doing the same things over and over again, fog is my favorite creative companion, other than my ever-present Assistante.

After an hour and a half on the same stretch of the highway, I realized
oops, I did it again. And, the theme somehow became something like this:

Oops, I did it again… I played with my heart and got lost in the game… :D

"I Learned My Lesson" - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

“I learned my lesson”, she said, at a café overlooking the Mirror Lake (Kagami-Ike, in Japanese) in Nagano, Japan.

It was an early morning. The misty air was as still as the surface of the lake. The Mt. Togakushi (戸隠山) in the background was playing hide-and-seek with us.

While we were having fun with the visual interests, a breeze swept through. The mirror was broken. All of sudden, we remembered dozing off on the bus for an hour and the subsequent half-an-hour hike to get to this location in cold November weather. It was decided that we'd put in enough hard work and the café sitting quietly on the gentle slop became a tempting idea.

She and her husband had been living in Southern California for 30 years and moved back to Japan 6 years ago. Curious about the cultural differences, I inquired about the transition in workplace.

”I learned my lesson”, she said, “and I’ve kept my mouth shut since”.

The
recent resignation of the Tokyo Olympics chief over sexist comments reminded me of our conversation with this lady from Southern California.

P.S. Remember I see landscape in human bodies? Well, vice versa is also true - I see human body in landscape. Do you see it in the first image?

What Is That Bird? - Los Angeles Travel Photographer

Spotting the ever-elusive birds in the rain forest of the Amazons is a daunting task, especially when vision was never claimed to be my strength. So, when this bird, in broad daylight, presents herself in front of me, I’d wipe my eyes first.

It looks like she is dropping by from Jurassic Park to pay us a visit. I mean, who would give her babies a pair of claws on their wings?

So, what is that bird, you ask.

Ummm, I’d be more interested in asking if she personally knows a dinosaur or two.

Isn’t it fun to be spending time with these odd birds?

I’d say, just as long as I have a real bed in this world to sleep on when the night falls.

Oh please, don’t say this sunset is other-worldly. I need to come back from the Cretaceous, remember?
